Zak Designs is expanding its Bzyoo collection at the International Home + Housewares Show by adding the new Rebel Collection to the offering.
Bzyoo was introduced late last year. The concept mixes melamine, stainless steel, glass, stoneware and porcelain and mixed material designed by Michael Cleghorn, an Australian-based designer, in collaboration with Zak Designs.
“The response in Europe and Australia to this new collection has been overwhelming,” said Irv Zakheim, Zak’s chairman and CEO. “This line is at the forefront of global color, texture, and style trends and we’re excited to be able to offer it to our U.S. customers.”
Bzyoo’s Rebel Collection is a coordinating assortment of stoneware and melamine dinnerware and serveware. Available in black, white or taupe, the collection includes a dinner and salad plate as well as a serving platter, a pair of salad servers, and two sizes of bowls.
The stoneware dinner plates in the Rebel collection feature antique rose gold treatments that merge artwork from a variety of cultures, including Chinese, French, Indonesian and Indian to create a cross-cultural look. The stoneware bowls are all embossed, creating a textural mix, and the melamine pieces offer Bzyoo’s new matte/gloss finish.
The Bzyoo collection was designed to highlight bold, single color artwork and simple, stylized geometric patterns. It takes inspiration from the purity and longevity of classic Scandinavian design aesthetics, but adds a twist.
Bzyoo will also be featured at Zak’s Forty One Madison showroom during the spring New York Tabletop Market.
