The Cupboard Debuts ‘Cook The Book’ Club

Decatur, AL-based The Cupboard, an independent housewares store owned by Ginger Cobl, is starting a new “Cook The Book” cookbook club.

According to the store’s Facebook page, the club will be a bi-monthly event. A new cookbook will be chosen for each event, each participant will be assigned a recipe to prepare and bring to the club.

Other retailers have also found success with hosting cookbook clubs. Eggshells Kitchen, based in Little Rock, AZ, and Culinary Square in Troy, NY, have had cookbook clubs as part of their offerings for awhile, and both have discussed how it helps form a community of cooks and brings back customers. Additionally, Brookings, SD-based Carrot Seed Kitchen also started a cookbook club this year.
