Phil Brandl, president and CEO of the International Housewares Association, said that despite some travel issues that impacted the eastern portion of the U.S., 99% of the Top 20 domestic retailers registered to attend the recent International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago were on site for the show.
Additionally, he added, international attendance nearly matched the record number from 2017.
“Senior-level attendance from both retailers and suppliers was particularly strong,” Brandl said.
According to the IHA, more than 2,200 exhibitors from 47 countries were on hand at McCormick Place for IH+HS 2018, which was set at McCormick Place.
Among the highlights at the 2018 show was the expanded IHA Smart Home Pavilion that featured 28 exhibitors displaying new connected products. The Smart Talks stage featured 30-minute sessions led by established experts and were focused on a host of topics related to smart home.
