York, ME-based Stonewall Kitchen has entered into an agreement to acquire Vermont Village, a manufacturer of organic applesauce and apple cider vinegar products. The transaction is expected to close in September, according to company officials. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
Vermont Village’s apple cider vinegar, apple cider vinegar shots, functional vinegars, malt vinegar, apple sauces and apple butter are sold in more than 13,000 stores nationwide, according to the company.
“We can’t think of a better addition to our family of brands,” said John Stiker, CEO, Stonewall Kitchen. “We have greatly admired the Vermont Village brand and its superior quality applesauce and vinegar products, a line that is complementary to our current offerings of premium specialty foods. Both brands share similar values of an authentic New England heritage, simple ingredients, exciting category presence and expanding distribution.”
Earlier this month, Stonewall Kitchen was sold to Audax Private Equity, an investment firm based in Boston, MA. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
