San Diego-based gourmet shop, The Spice Way, will host cookbook author and culinary instructor Chef Marlene Sorosky Gray for a cooking class on March 14, at 7 p.m. The cost is $50.
According to the store’s website, the class will consist of the following menu:
- Baked Portobellos with pesto cheese and zucchini
- Toasted Israeli Couscous with balsamic, sundried tomatoes and goat cheese
- Sole Piccata with brown butter and grapes
- Almond cake with crunchy almond topping
The Spice Way also stated that Chef Marlene Sorosky Gray cooking classes typically emphasize recipes that are simple to prepare, yet have lots of flavor. Gray has written eight cookbooks on entertaining and has won James Beard and International Association of Culinary Professional awards. She has also owned her own cooking school and cookware shop, where she worked with Julia Child, James Beard and Jacques Pepin.
