Royal VKB has won a 2010 Green Good Design Award for its Jar Tops.
The award is given by The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. This is the second year The European Centre and The Chicago Athenaeum have created a specialized edition of the Good Design program, which was originally founded in 1950.
The award emphasizes the importance of sustainable design and promotes public awareness for companies that focus on the environment during the product design process.
Royal VKB Jar Tops, designed by Jorre van Ast, turn readily available jars that would otherwise be thrown away into reusable containers. The Royal VKB Jar Tops line includes a sugar pot, milk can, spice cellar, chocolate sprinkler and general top. The Jar Tops are microwave- and dishwasher-safe. They are available in cypress green and anthracite, and come packaged with five different tops in a set.
