Recipe App Hoorray Creates Sharing Network For Home Cooks

Hoorray, a social cooking network, is offering home chefs a way to find and share recipes and connect with other food enthusiasts, the company said. The mobile program is available through a free download on the iTunes and Google App stores.

Developed to get consumers excited about cooking in their own kitchen, Hoorray brings together recipes, imagery of real food and a supportive social community. It offers a view into home kitchens across the country, giving home cooks of all levels a new way to create and share recipes, search for the latest culinary trends, or just master basic techniques, the company said.

So many people today share what’s on their plates in restaurants with their social networks, and now with Hoorray we want to encourage them to share what they are cooking at home,” said Martin Tonnesson, founder of Hoorray and CEO of parent company International Masters Publishers. “Hoorray brings cooking enthusiasts together to get inspired, boost their repertoire and share culinary masterpieces, helping answer the dreaded question of ‘what’s for dinner?’”

Hoorray will feature over 10,000 recipes from the company’s most popular recipe collections, including Great American Recipes, Great American Homebaking, and Grandma’s Kitchen. Users can save their favorite recipe collections curated by other foodies, privately store their own favorite recipes, and follow what their favorite home chefs are cooking on a central activity feed, the company said.
