PureWine is debuting the Wave, a full-bottle solution for alleviating allergy-related reactions to wine, at the International Home + Housewares Show, here.
The disposable and biorenewable Wave is essentially a filter that is designed to fit on top of a wine bottle. It is equipped with technology that will remove sulfites and histamines from wine in order to alleviate allergic reactions. The filtering process, takes less than a minute, the company said.
In addition, the Wave incorporates additional technology that allows it to aerate wine as it is poured and to resurrect older wine, improving the taste by adding oxidation back in.
The Wave is reusable but can also be disposed of, according to the consumer’s preference. It has a suggested retail price of $11.99.
PureWine’s first product, the Wine Wand, is a single-use, disposable filter. After being placed and set in a glass of wine for three minutes, it also removes the aforementioned allergens, the company said. The latest generation of Wine Wands will also work to bring the taste back to old wine.
