Didriks, Local Root Donate January Sales To Non-Profit

Didriks and Local Root, the home and kitchen store with two locations in Massachusetts, announced that it would be donating 5% of every January purchase to local Food For Free, a local food rescue and distribution non-profit.

“For the past 11 years, Didriks and Local Root have donated over $60,000 to benefit dozens of programs that focus on improving access to healthy foods in local communities,” was posted on the store’s Facebook page.

The store is also hosting an in-store fundraising event on January 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Customers will have the opportunity to shop, sample food and listen to music. The event will take place at the Belmont, MA location.

“The holidays are a time to think about those who are truly in need,” Jonathan Henke, owner of Didriks and Local Root, told local new outlet Wicked Local Belmont. “Food for Free is an incredible organization addressing food insecurity in the greater Boston area. We are proud to partner with them, and encourage our customers to do the same.”
