Capers Emporium, an independent kitchenwares store, has opened its doors in New Harmony, IN. The store is owned by husband and wife team, Mary Beth and Michael Guard.
According to the Courier & Press, a local newspaper, both Mary Beth and Michael were lawyers that fell in love with the small town deciding, ultimately, to open a housewares store.
“My goal is to get people back in the kitchen,” Mary Beth Guard told the news outlet. “I’m shocked by how few people cook today. We don’t need to be eating all this packaged and fast food. People just need to see how cooking can fit into their busy life.”
In addition to the array of housewares items available at the store, Capers Emporium also offers cooking classes.
