The summer edition of NY Now, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, brought a record number of new and international participation, with 396 new companies and 515 individual international exhibitors from 65-plus countries worldwide, the show operator said.
This August also marked the first summer market will all three NY Now Collections and all ten NY Now sections presented under one roof at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, the company noted. The sold out exhibit space featured 2,600-plus exhibitors, noted NY Now.
“This August, we packed nearly 500,000 net square feet of exhibit space into the Javits Center because of unprecedented demand from exhibitors, and attendees appreciated easy access to the wealth of resources presented under one roof,” said Randi Mohr, NY Now co-director and vice president.
With all NY Now exhibits presented at the Javits Center, the collections and sections were said to be well defined and easily navigable for participants. Social media buzz was also a key element to the summer market, with the brand new #NYNow Social Media Lounge, sponsored by HGTV Magazine’s Blogger Block Party, which allowed attendees to follow the action live while connecting and sharing highlights with fellow industry professionals, the company said.
Other highlights included product design awards, educational seminars, events, and buyer promotions, including a new “VIP Dollars” promotion where the market gave away $30,000, in $250 and $500 increments, to select VIP buyers over four days of the market.
The winter 2016 edition of NY Now will run Saturday, January 30 through Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the Javits Center.
