The National Retail Federation has announced the addition of two former Capitol Hill staffers, Marisa Harrilchak and Lizzy Simmons, to its growing government relations staff.
“We are thrilled to bring these two talented staffers on board,” said David French, NRF svp/government relations. “Their Capitol Hill experience will make an immediate contribution to our team and our members. I look forward to working with them as we continue to advance the retail industry’s interests in Washington.”
Lizzy Simmons joins NRF as senior director of government relations to assume responsibility for the association’s workforce policy agenda, including labor, immigration and workforce development. Previously with the office of Senator Tim Scott, R-SC, Simmons is currently finishing her master’s degree in legislative affairs from George Washington University.
Marisa Harrilchak comes to NRF from law school, but she was formerly a floor staffer with Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, during her tenure as Speaker of the House. She joins NRF as a government relations manager, where she will work on many of the retail industry’s top legislative and regulatory priorities, including payments, patent reform, supply chain and international trade issues.
