The state of Maine has declared May 11 as Stonewall Kitchen Day. The date signifies the day the business opened 25 years ago.
The business started with founders Jim Stott and Jonathan King setting up a table at a local farmer’s market in New Hampshire to sell some of their homemade goods. Now, Stonewall Kitchen distributions shelf-stable goods throughout the U.S. while maintaining 10 company stores that also carry gourmet housewares. Additionally, Stott and King opened a cooking school at its York, MA-based headquarters.
“To our guests and employees – whether you have supported us for the last 25 years or you are new to our family, we thank you for being a part of our journey,” the business wrote on its Facebook page.
