LOOK: A Store Tour Of Plum’s Cooking

Showing 1 of 15

After purchasing Plum’s Cooking Company from its pervious owner in 2016, Penny Klinedinst, owner, got to work redesigning every inch of the store. With her design chops and retail knowledge, she set out to make the independent gourmet housewares store something special for the Sioux Falls, SD community.

“When we were done with the remodel, every inch of this was exactly the way I had planned it in my head,” she said.

She explained that she put an emphasis on the cash wrap, making sure it was in a place that was easily accessible to employees but also easy to navigate around for customers. She also she practiced walking in the front doors to see which one gave customers the “friendliest” first impression of the store.

Learn more about Klinedinst and why she was named a 2019 GOURMET INSIDER All-Star by reading her story. And click through the gallery below to see what we saw when we walked into Plum’s Cooking.
