Lenox Corporation has named Mads Ryder as chief executive officer. Ryder joins Lenox after holding multiple leadership positions at top European consumer companies, including IC Group, Royal Copenhagen, Weight Watchers and LEGO Group.
“We admire Mads’ impressive track record building brands and effective organizations. While he was CEO of Royal Copenhagen, we watched Mads reposition one of the tabletop industry’s most prestigious, though aging, brands into what is now a highly relevant and vibrant brand in Denmark and Japan,” said Marc Utay, chairman of the board of Lenox.
“I’m incredibly excited by the opportunity in front of me. Lenox creates world-class products, and, as the leader in the U.S. market, we have a unique opportunity to interact with consumers in a way that can elevate the way Americans eat, entertain, and celebrate at home. I am confident a better experience for Lenox’s consumers will drive growth for Lenox’s business, and a more prosperous future for Lenox’s trade partners,” said Ryder.
Ryder steps in as CEO after months of leadership from Brian Gowen, who served as interim CEO for Lenox. Gowen will continue to serve as chief operating officer, the position he held prior to Lenox’s executive transition.
“We thank Brian for his superb effort and remarkable leadership during this transition period. We look forward to his partnership with Mads executing an exciting new strategy for Lenox,” said Utay.
