The Kitchen Collage, a Des Moines, IA-based independent gourmet kitchen store will reopen its doors on June 1.
According to store owner Teresa Adams-Tomka, while Iowa recently lifted restrictions for retailers, she is following her local county recommendations to remain cautious and will instead reopen in June.
Adams-Tomka recently communicated the store’s plans to reopen on its Facebook page, as well as how the store will service customers until then. The Kitchen Collage will continue to take phone and website orders with curbside pick-up and delivery options.
In addition, the retailer will continue to arrange shopping appointments with customers, allowing three in the store at one time. Adams-Tomka said that employees will practice social distancing, wear masks and gloves and ask that customers do the same and will provide complimentary gloves. The store also has hand sanitizer available and employees sanitize the store after visits.
Of the re-opening, Adams-Tomka stated the following: “We understand that this is all a bit overwhelming and am reminded daily of the strength it takes to move through this pandemic. Our loved ones and community need continued support. Thank you for your help and awareness in advocating for your favorite non for profits, going to bat for those that are marginalized, and understanding the power of ‘local’ in helping small business of all kinds. It is important for ALL of our heath and welfare.”
