Jura’s new S8 automatic coffee machine, which is touted by the company as a premium mid-range unit, recently won the reddot Design Award and iF Design Award.
The S8, which Jura began shipping in June, received the reddot award at a ceremony in Essen, Germany on July 9. It received the iF award in March during a ceremony in Berlin.
Among the features of the Jura S8 is touchscreen technology that offers a range of 15 specialty hot beverages ranging from espresso to flat white and caffè latte, plus hot water for either black or green tea. According to the company, graphics and animation help guide the user, illustrating every step of the process on the largest color display in the Jura assortment of specialty coffee machines.
Other features of the S8 include a pulse extraction process that is said to ensure optimum extraction time, a 15-bar pump, AromaG3 coffee bean grinder, insulated bean container lid, height adjustable brewing spouts to accommodate a range of cups and mugs and the Clearyl smart filter that is said to remove chlorine, lead, aluminum and copper from tap water.
The S8 Moonlight silver coffee machine is available for immediate shipment, with an actual retail price of $2,899.
