The International Housewares Association’s Inspired Home Housewares for the Holidays event, held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York, provided a sense of what consumers may expect for the end-of-year shopping season.
There was a focus on colorful housewares to enliven celebrations throughout the year, especially those involving food and drink.
The event included holiday promotional products such as the Bradshaw International Bonny bar bottle gift tag corkscrew in pegboard packaging that incorporates a gift tag. The hanging card can slip over a bottleneck as that little something extra for a wine gift. The corkscrew comes in three colors.
Design Ideas featured various decor including its Tannenbaum Trees, decorations made from easily assembled poplar plywood elements. Gaia Group provided colorful holiday stoneware. Hutzler Manufacturing Co.’s Easy Action cookie press and food decorator uses a ratchet action that allows the press to be readily used by children.
Housewares that addressed beverage trends included a smoked drinks appliance from Fortessa Table Solutions, under the Crafthouse by Fortessa barware brand. Gourmia spotlighted the model GTC8000 square craft tea infuser and coffee brewer, with three taste/strength settings. The Capresso Froth Control arrived as the first countertop frother that can accommodate chocolate chips and chunks for hot chocolate, Jura asserted.
Recently introduced housewares at the event included DKB’s Zyliss Cook cast aluminum pans, which feature a treatment that creates a long-lasting non-stick surface, the company noted. KitchenAid included new mixer attachments in its presentation, including the Vegetable Sheet Cutter, which produces variations on pasta and wraps for healthy eating. The Oxo Good Grips chef’s mandoline 2.0 provides 17 settings for slice thickness from 1 to 9 millimeters and blades that slice waffle, julienne and French fry cuts.
