Gefu has been named one of Germany’s more innovative small and medium sized enterprises and has earned a Top 100 seal of approval by Compamedia GmbH. The company was honored during the German SME Summit in Essen, Germany in June.
Gefu, which markets the Spirelli and Spiralfix spiral slicers among other kitchenware, earned top ranks in the Top 100 competition’s Innovations Marketing category. The company, which employs 43 people in Germany, said that it earned the award for its conventional marketing activities paired with other programming, such as cooking courses for kindergarteners, use of Facebook for product feedback, and placing QR codes on packaging.
“We are very proud to be among the Top 100 and to be able to use this award to reinforce our position in the market,” said Gefu executive director Rudolf Schillheim. “We are resolutely committed to kitchen utensils with added functional value and to a constantly expanding product range. We develop new concepts and harness a large number of innovations and ideas to further our company’s success.”
According to the company, the Top 100 accolade is awarded on the basis of a two-stage analysis in which research scientists use more than 100 parameters in five separate categories to investigate how small and medium sized businesses manage and generate successful innovations.
