While travel has been limited during the Coronavirus pandemic, learning has not stopped for retailers. In order to continue to bring the independent gourmet channel the tools it needs to survive and thrive during this time, GC Buying Group is introducing Summer Series — a virtual Summer School program — for its members.
“Truly the next best thing to being there, the virtual events will connect vendors and stores in preparation for Q4 selling,” says Janis Johnson, president and founder of GC Buying Group. “The GC Team has done an amazing job of organizing and setting up the individual trainings,” Johnson continued.
While Summer School normally takes place at the summer edition of the Atlanta Market, group meetings have been limited this year. So, to adapt, GC will be offering virtual live and on-demand vendor trainings. Live versions will feature virtual contact between stores and vendors, along with Q&A opportunities. Each session in the series will be recorded and available for viewing by store members.
The event dates, according to GC, are July 15, 16; July 21, 22, 23; and July 28, 29, 30.
