Gaia Group Debuts Earthy Tableware In Chicago

Gaia Group USA, a new dinnerware company led by former Sears executive Marie McGrath-Brown, is making its debut at the International Home + Housewares Show.
The company’s goal is to bring retailers “the best of the earth” with dinnerware notable for its organic shapes and colors, designs and finishes inspired by nature and patterns from around the world.
Eloise Huang, the founder and CEO, most recently was CEO of Bantum Inc., a brand and product development consulting firm. Her vision was to start a dinnerware company in the U.S. and she tapped McGrath-Brown to serve as president and general manager.
Gaia is the name for the earth goddess, and has also been used as a term for Mother Earth. Creating a corporate environment that incorporates being kind to the earth and its inhabitants is important to the company, from designing and manufacturing products with quality materials, to making sure that workers are treated and paid well.
At the Housewares Show, Gaia Group, under the brand Gaia Tablescapes, is debuting five main collections.
Most of interest for gourmet insiders is Bella Terra, featuring an organic farm-to-table aesthetic with an intentionally unfinished look and soft color palette in stoneware. Metallic Elements features an “unexpected earthy metallic bling” such as aged or distressed brass, copper and iron, to offer a trendy urban feel.
