Function Junction, a Kansas City, MO based housewares retailer, will be moving from its current location on the third floor of Crown Center Shops to a larger space a floor below in the Spring of 2014. By moving, the retailer will be expanding its product offering by 25% and will be enhancing its Culinary Studio where it holds product demonstrations and culinary events, the retailer said.
“I’ve begun the search for new, interesting, and innovative products,” Mary Merola, founder and co-owner of Function Junction, said. “We have begun bringing some of the world’s best cooking tools to Kansas City since 1977. The new location offers us a chance to bring even more cutting edge product lines to Kansas City and our online store as well.”
Function Junction will continue to operate in its current location, near the south escalator on the 3rd floor of Crown Center Shops until the day of the grand opening of the 2nd floor location. Construction of the new space has begun with April 2014 slated for the opening of the expanded location.
The relocation comes on the heels of the announcement that Kansas City’s luxury department store, Halls, will be moving to Crown Center, bringing new high-end shoppers to the area. Function Junction’s new location will be highly visible to these elite shoppers, the retailer said.
Founded in 1977, Function Junction is a privately owned and operated company that offers tools to help every cook feel confident in the kitchen. The retailer’s slogan is “cool cooking stuff that makes you cool cooking stuff.”
The expansion and enhancements planned in 2014 offer the retailer the opportunity to bring additional exclusive culinary tools to the area.
