While Forty One Madison continues to monitor updates on the coronavirus, it has issued a statement that the New York Tabletop Market will open as planned. It is scheduled to be held March 31 to April 3 in New York City.
Forty One Madison’s statement:
“Thank you to everyone who has shared their thoughts around the upcoming New York Tabletop Show, in the face of the COVID-19 situation. From what we’ve heard thus far, it seems companies and individuals are taking a varied approach, depending on many factors ranging from corporate travel policies to personal risk assessments.
The health and safety of the tabletop community is a priority for Rudin Management, and we are in close communication with the City of New York and state and local health authorities to assess the situation on an hour by hour basis. Following the guidance of these official organizations, we are still planning to host the show later this month. Forty One Madison is a permanent showroom building open year round with many showroom offices open daily. The Tabletop Market is an appointment driven show, therefore showrooms will be available for appointments at their discretion. Based on medical data and the situation on the ground, public transportation, sporting and event centers, schools and workplaces are operating.
We are also monitoring and reviewing decisions made by our peers in the trade show space across the country, as well as the current travel bans set forth by many companies. Safety is our priority, and we will continue monitoring things closely over the next weeks and will provide updates as they are available.
Also, while at Forty One Madison, you may notice building staff taking our usual flu season precautions such as extra cleaning of entrance door handles, turnstiles, security desks and elevator control buttons and panels. We have placed personal hand sanitizer dispensers in prominent positions in the main lobby and showroom floors for use by tenants and visitors.
Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions or concerns. Thank you for your attention, focus and your continued support of the tabletop industry.“
