Fitz and Floyd, a division of Lifetime Brands, and Coleen Christian Burke, White House designer, received the Icon Honors Award for innovation for the First Ladies Collection of holiday tableware, décor and ornaments at a reception held July 12 at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.
The Coleen Christian Burke First Ladies Collection by Fitz and Floyd features holiday tabletop and trim products that reflect the signature holiday decorating styles of First Ladies Jackie Kennedy and Nancy Reagan. The collection shares the Christmas moments Kennedy and Reagan created with their families in the White House, the company said.
“All of the tableware and accessories in the First Ladies Collection are inspired by pictures and anecdotes of the Kennedy and Reagan families at Christmas. For example, pictures of President Kennedy and young John John with their white Christmas stockings accompany our white stocking vase,” said Burke.
Steve Baram, president, Fitz and Floyd, added, “We translated those historical White House photos into more than 30 pieces in the First Ladies Collection of cookie jars, platters, bowls, musicals and ornaments. In addition, we incorporated pictures of the Kennedys and Reagans into the packaging, along with heartwarming historical anecdotes. It was our goal to create collectible heirlooms that would be cherished and passed down for generations.”
Icon Honors celebrates global innovation in the home and gift industry, and recognizes those in the industry across 16 categories. Honorees are selected through adjudication by experts drawn from the world of design, manufacturing and product development.
