Fante’s Kitchen Shop, a Philadelphia, PA-based independent gourmet kitchen store, will host bread making expert, Craftsy educator and author Michael Kalanty on Saturday December 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
According to the retailer, Kalanty will be in the store to answer questions about baking bread. Attendees are invited to bring a sample of their own baked bread and troubleshoot with the expert. He will also sign copies of his books, including his newest release, “How to Bake More Bread: Modern Breads, Wild Yeast.”
In Kalanty’s new book, he demystifies natural fermentation and sourdough bread baking and offers updated textures and new flavors to naturally-fermented breads by adding whole grain flours, ancient grains, and cooked porridges like steel cut oats.
Fante’s said Kalanty is an experienced educator in all things bread, with over 20 years in the industry. He has authored two books now offers a Craftsy course called “Secrets on Whole Grain Bread Baking.” Kalanty’s certifications include executive pastry chef, culinary educator and master taster.
