Sudbury, MA-based Duck Soup was recently featured on “Chronicles”, a local Boston television news program. The segment highlighted the gourmet insider among other historical and modern attractions in the town of Sudbury.
In the segment Duck Soup is described as Sudbury’s version of a general store. Founded in 1971, the store has been in town longer than any other retail shop. During the interview, owner Louise Mawhinney discussed her experience taking over the shop in 2015 and how at the time the shop was in danger of closing.
“I feel almost like I am a caretaker instead of a storeowner because it is such a beloved institution,” she stated during the interview.
Duck Soup carries a variety of cookware, tableware and appliances as well as gourmet foods and craft beverages. The store also offers cooking classes and was recently named a top cooking school in Boston.
