Massachusetts-based housewares retailers, Didriks and Local Root, have announced plans to relocate. The stores were previously located in Cambridge, MA and will be moving to Belmont Center, which will allow the retailers to occupy space next to one another.
Local Root carries a selection of cookware, bakeware, cook’s tools, knives, cookbooks, and other kitchen accouterments, while Didriks carries outdoor furniture, tableware and home decor products by U.S. and European brands.
Local Root and Didriks will have one main entrance to their two-level store off of Leonard Street as well as a rear entrance from the Claflin parking lot, owner Jonathan Henke told Wicked Local Belmont, a local media outlet.
“We’re not moving very far at all. It will be very convenient for our Cambridge customers. We have a lot of customers in Belmont already and anyone else coming from the Route 2 corridor and the North Shore,” said Henke.
Henke opened Didriks in 2004. After the store outgrew its space, he opened the Local Root in 2012.
