Sebastopol, CA-based Cultivate Home will be closing its doors at the end of February. The store has been open since 2009 and was started by Mariah Isely. In 2016, current owner Kathleen Mayhew took over the retail sales operation after Isely relocated to the east coast.
“It is with deep regrets and sorrow that we must announce the closing of Cultivate Home due to the deteriorating health of the owner Kathleen Mayhew, effective February 28, 2020,” the store posted on its Facebook page.
The announcement continued, “We thank our fine customer base who have stood with us over the past few years. We hope that you all take advantage of the big discounts we are offering as we try to clear out our inventory.”
According to the store’s website, it offered a large, thoughtfully curated mix of earthy and elegant tools for cooking, entertaining and nesting. It was recently named Best Culinary Store in the 2019 Best Of The North Bay reader’s choice awards.
