Chelan, WA-based Culinary Apple has announced that it donated $650 to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey relief. The independent gourmet housewares and gift store said that it would donate 10% of Labor Day weekend sales to relief efforts.
“We know first hand how important it is to support our neighbors and our community when we see a need. We experienced such an outpouring of love and support in 2015 when we lived through the terrible fires, that now we’d like to pay it forward,” the store posted in its newsletter.
The newsletter continued, “Many of us have family and friends affected by Hurricane Harvey and the flooding that is now cause for major concern in the Houston area and beyond. We want to do our part to help that community as they begin their journey to recovery.”
