Rochester, NY-based Cooks’ World, will start offering in-store cooking classes. This is the first time the 37-year-old kitchen retailer will offer classes.
The Chef’s Series Cooking Class will be held on Sunday, April 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Chef and cookbook author Samantha Buyskes will lead the class.
According to the store, Sunday Brunch is the theme of the class. There is a $45 fee and Chef Buyskes will instruct participants on how to prepare the following menu:
- Brioche with whipped honey butter and jam
- Crab cake benedict with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce
- Spring breakfast potatoes with bacon and herbs
- Lemon, polenta cake with whipped ricotta and poached figs
Chef Buyskes is an Executive Chef, published cookbook author and culinary educator with twenty years of experience on the local, national and international level, according to the Cooks World website.
A dedicated ambassador of the Finger Lakes farm-to-table movement, Buyskes has also appeared on The Food Network’s Chopped and currently works part-time as a butcher at The Piggery in Ithaca, where she also holds pop-up bakery days.
In addition, Chef Buyskes will be at Cooks’ World the day before, Saturday, April 11 at 9 a.m., to host a bakery sale. Customers are invited to shop for a limited amount of baked goods including scones, pies, cookies and more.
