Cincinnati, OH-based Cooks’Wares announced that it will be closing its doors. According to owner Steve Fricke, who confirmed the closing to GOURMET INSIDER®, the store is set to shutter sometime in September after 26 years in business.
“As in any small business, there have been ups and downs. We have made so many great memories and lasting friendships. Our customers, co-workers and instructors have made Cooks’Wares what it is,” was written in a letter to the store’s customers. “To all of our Cooks’Wares family on both sides the counter and with heartfelt appreciation, thank you.”
The store was founded by Paul and Mary Fricke before second generation brother and sister team, Steve and Sharon Fricke, took over the business. At one point, the brand ran three stores around the Cincinnati area.
