Cook’s Illustrated has selected the Lux LCD multi-cooker from Fagor as the best multi-cooker. The LUX LCD was named the best in this emerging cookware category by the publication after being put through testing, said Fagor.
In terms of functionality and performance, the LUX LCD offers 10 cooking functions — pressure cook, slow cook, steam, brown, sauté, simmer, yogurt, grains, eggs and dessert. The additional keep warm and time delay programs let you seamlessly move from prepping to cooking to serving, the company said. Not only does this unit come with 10 main functions, it also includes more than 30 additional recipe specific settings that pertain to certain main functions including a custom setting that lets you save up to three of your favorite recipes in the unit’s internal memory.
The LUX LCD has three size options — 4 quart, 6 quart and 8 quart — and comes equipped with a self-locking lid, automatic pressure release setting and two independent pressure control valves. Included with the LUX LCD are a stainless steel steamer basket, user’s manual and a recipe book with more than 70 recipes.
The units range in suggested retail price from $149.95 to $199.95.
