Mount Pleasant, SC-based The Coastal Cupboard is hosting a charity trade-up event until July 31.
According to the store’s social media pages, customers can bring in their gently used knives, silverware, pots or pans for 20% off of replacement pieces. The items that were traded in will be donated to the area’s local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
The independent housewares store is no stranger to charity events, hosting knife sharpening and trade-up promotions on an annual basis. The proceeds are then donated to organizations like Habitat for Humanity or local non-profits like the The Charleston Basket Brigade.
The Coastal Cupboard will mark 14 years in business this fall. It was started by John Pitner and is now owned by his son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Joy Pitner.
