Closing the curtain on summer: Cooking Classes

Closing the curtain on summer, Savannah, GA’s Kitchenware Outfitters has announced two late summer cooking classes: a “Cool Labor Day Beach Party” with instructor Anna Hood and “A Comfortable Tailgate Picnic” with instructor Nathalie Dupree. In a helpful boost to its customers, the retailer indicated the number of remaining seats in each class with its most recent newsletter, a strategy that can serve as a last minute reminder to potential yet procrastinating attendees.
The Brooklyn Kitchen has also announced its fall class schedule, which includes such offerings as home brewing, canning, pig butchering, pickling, dumpling and fish curing. Additionally, to commemorate the “record number of ice cream machines” the store sold this sweltering summer, Brooklyn Kitchen is holding its first ever “Ice Cream Off,” over Labor Day weekend.
Park Ridge, IL’s Dominic’s Kitchen Store has announced a number of new classes for the fall as well, including “Shrimp-A-Palooza,” “Ladies Night Out” and “How Did The Chicken Cross The Road,” that promises to teach, “everything you ever wanted to know about chicken.”
Fall-themed classes at Dominic’s Kitchen Store include comfort foods, homemade soups and for those whose time and skills are limited, semi-homemade meals. Also on tap this fall is “Sauces: Are You My Mother,” a cleverly named offering focused on teaching the five basic sauces from which most others can be created.
