Breville has debuted its Smart Oven Pizzaiolo, which is being touted by the company as the first indoor countertop pizza oven that heats up to 750° Fahrenheit and is said to cook a Neapolitan-style pizza in two minutes.
Company officials said that after four years of research and development, product designers at Breville were able to utilize the company’s Element IQ System, a patented heating system used across its entire oven assortment, to develop an oven that “significantly advances pizza making at home.”
Richard Hoare, director of design and innovation at Breville, said the new oven is able to take the 1,800-watt residential power limit and sequence the power application to replicate the performance of a brick oven.
Breville’s Element IQ System utilizes smart algorithms to steer power to where and when it is needed, to create and maintain the ideal baking environment, company officials said.
Among the key features of the Pizzaiolo oven is seven pre-sets ranging from frozen, New York, thin & crispy and wood-fired; an auto-eject door that automatically pulls out the pizza stone for safer handling; a removable cordierite pizza stone; double glass pane doors; and a manual “hack” mode.
Suggested retail price is $799.95.
