The International Home + Housewares Show is where independent retailers go to meet with vendors, check out new products and see how goods can align with the consumer shopping trends in their area.
However, it can be hard to see everything in the allotted amount of time and it can also be tough to figure out exactly how a new gadget or cookware line can fill a void or even attract new potential customers. So, who better to help than another independent retailer?
Angela Skogen, owner of Williston, ND-based Cooks On Main and 2018 GOURMET INSIDER All-Star, walked the show floor and picked out several products that tap into the current consumer cooking, home décor and entertaining trends.
Skogen visited Fortessa where the at-home cocktailing trend was highlighted; checked out Fissler’s new multi-pot with sous vide (dubbed Souspreme) for the healthy, fast cooking that consumers are looking for; and browsed the Le Creuset booth as its new color palette is part of a color story that’s being seen throughout housewares.
