Alessi is showcasing its new offerings in the coffee category, Moka and Caffa. While Moka is designed for home use, Caffa was created for on-the-go sippers.
According to the company, Moka is designed to bring Italian tradition to the present. Available in four sizes, each version can be used on gas, electric, and glass ceramic cooktops. Alessi noted that the 9-cup size has extended benefits including a double funnel filter to brew espresso and standard coffee. The suggested retail price of the new Moka ranges from $35 for the one cup product to $155 for the 9-cup offering. The line was designed by architect David Chipperfield.
Caffa is a new on-the-go coffee line from Alessi. The company designed the double-walled thermal travel mug with a slim cylinder base widening into a conical shape. This shape, said Alessi, makes the good able to fit in standard cup holders. It is also designed to maintain beverage temperature for up to 12 hours and made of 18/10 stainless steel.
