A Matter Of Taste, an independent gourmet kitchen store located in Cambria, CA, was recently lost in a fire. According to The Tribune, a local news outlet, a pickup truck drove into a natural gas line at the store, which resulted in the fire. While the building was deemed a loss, no one was hurt.
A Matter Of Taste is owned by Gayle Jenkins and Mark Morris, who purchased the store in 2013 from its previous owners Mike and Sally Thompson. In 2019 the store was awarded Business of the Year honors by its local chamber of commerce.
As Jenkins and Morris navigate what comes next for A Matter Of Taste, the following was posted the store’s Facebook page, “A HUGE Thank You for what has been an outpouring of so much LOVE. We are truly overwhelmed with everyone’s love, support, hugs (yes hugs, I said it!), prayers, words of encouragement, well wishes, etc. We are thankful for all of you. 2020 has been a year of crazy, but never in our wildest dreams did we see this one coming.”
The owners went on to state they are still trying to process everything and figure out the next steps for A Matter Of Taste and will keep its customers posted along the way.
