ThermoServ Enters Kids Dinnerware Market

ThermoServ entered the kids tabletop market this year with the launch of its Kids dinnerware line aimed at parents of toddlers and small children.

“We’ve had our eye on the children’s market for several years, and we’re excited to be testing the waters in this area. There are a lot of options for plastic drinkware and dinnerware in the kid’s space, but our ability to mold in color combined with our Made in America position allows us to bring a higher quality product to this market,” said Dana Dowdy, director of marketing.

When it comes to the design of the new line, Dowdy noted that the company started with the same color palette that runs through its entire product offering. Then, she said, the company looked to add fresh and fun colors that were not too gender specific or cliché for the market. She added that the company seized the chance to bring fashion forward designs into the kids dining space, with colors and themes that speak to a slightly more sophisticated mom.

“We wanted to keep it simple and classic, appeal to a broad audience of kids and parents, and yet also be relevant with what we are seeing and anticipating in kid fashion trends across various housewares categories,” she said.

In addition to its design focus, Dowdy noted that the company focused on durability and functionality for the new line. It includes a three-piece mealtime set, which includes a plate, bowl and cup in four patterns; an easy storage divided plate with lid in four patterns; and a four-piece stackable cup set in assorted colors.

Moving forward, Dowdy noted the company plans to expand the Kids line, and is already adding new designs and collection pieces for 2019. “We’re excited about this market, and looking forward to where it will lead us,” she said.
