Casafina Focuses On Independent Retail Channel

This year Casafina makes its debut at the International Home + Housewares Show to showcase new tabletop collections for 2018 positioned to fit the needs of the independent retailer.

Matt Hullfish, national sales manager, noted Casafina is driven by giftable table and serveware assortments such as its new casserole collection, Cook and Host. In addition, each European stoneware collection is available as open stock rather than sets.

At this year’s show, the brand will highlight new collections that support consumer trends, such as farm to table and the explosion of olive oil and balsamic vinegars in the U.S., Hullfish noted.

For example, the company will showcase its new Fattoria collection. Hullfish said the new collection is the company’s answer to the farm to table trend in terms of its overall design. The collection includes kitchenwares such as mixing bowls, batter bowls, measuring cups and more, and is made of Portuguese stoneware.

The company will also highlight its new Olivia collection, which was developed in direct response to the growing use of olive oil and balsamic vinegars in the U.S. in addition to the growing independent olive oil focused retailer. The collection includes a variety of dipping bowls and plates that feature compartments for olive oil, olives and pits.

The new Taormina collection features a reactive glaze finish. The stoneware collection is available in two colors, white and aqua, with a contrasting reactive glaze border. According to the company, no two pieces of Taormina are identical, making each place setting unique. The collection includes a dinner plate, salad plate, soup/pasta bowl, soup/cereal bowl, mug, teacup and saucer, pitcher, serving bowl and oval platter, available in open stock.

The company also recently launched the Piastrella collection. A collection of tile prints on white glazed terracotta. The tile decorations are hand applied, making each item similar but unique, the company said. The collection includes tabletop items such as an appetizer plate, large serving bowl, medium serving bowl, serving bowl and more.
