NY Now Sees Zens Lifestyle Brand Expansion

For the first time, Zens ​Lifestyle​, a tabletop and lifestyle brand that launched in the U.S. last year, showcased its tableware at NY Now. The company introduced 14 new collections, all of which look to marry ancient Chinese culture with modern design.

The Stone series of tableware, tea and coffee sets, designed by Nendo Studios, features a motif of smooth stones. Circular dinnerware features a flat stone-shaped bottom said to give the illusion of two pieces in one plate. The tableware line features bone china, cast iron and high borosilicate glass. It is available in matte white, matte black, warm gray and green.

The Fungi series by Nendo Studios features a set of decorative bowls that stack as if they were spores, the company said. The decorative bowls can be stacked on the rims and are available in varying sizes allowing for various display combinations. The line was developed with stainless steel and iron, and is available in white, green, black and warm gray colors.

The Plank series by Nendo Studios includes tea accessories and tableware featuring a decorative lid. The plank series includes a carafe, coffee cup, milk and sugar bowls, tea mug, coffee pot and serving tray. The line is available in white, warm gray, blue and pink.

The Lotus & Fish series of dinnerware, by designer Michael Young, is made of fine bone china. It features five images of classic Chinese art and poetry, fish, lotus flower and leaves, dragonflies and tendrils. It features a repeating pattern and blue and white color palette.

“We are excited to share our enthusiasm for modern, statement-making Asian heritage-inspired designs for the home, office or hospitality space in the U.S. market,” said Elaine Cai, gm/Zens International. “Our range of products, well-known internationally, has historically focused on teaware and tabletop. We are thrilled to continue expanding on that offering and also introduce new collections at NY Now.”
